Part 20 John's POV:

What the bloody FUCK is he supposed to do now?! HUH?!

John is so furious that he almost forgets to hold on to the ladder with his hands.

His legs are shaking.

What should he do, what should he do… ?

He looks down, climbing down the ladder in silence while his teeth are gritted.

Tears are falling down in the dark; he cannot see anything anymore apart from the light
where the hole in the ceiling is. The hole between him and Paul.

He really wants to cry out, as he fumbles his way back to where he came from. He is on his knees, crawling like an animal towards the light.

It burns in his eyes, when he finally reaches it, and he stumbles and fall down on the floor next to the chest of drawers.

Oh, his back… His shoulder blades hurt.

He struggles to stand up again, as if he was a baby standing up for the first time.

His cheeks are wet with tears, and his mouth is dry.

He licks his skin, tastes the salty liquid around his mouth.

Strange, gurgling sounds are coming from down his throat.

It does not sound human. It sounds like a wounded prey.

He gets up, looks around, sees Paul’s body minus the head in front of him, tied up.

The legs are trembling.

John can feel how a terrible lump grows in his throat.

The poison is working.

It is hurting his best mate right at this minute.

It is FUCKING hurting his best mate…!

The sounds become a scream, as John notices the mirror behind him on the opposite wall.

The doll is in there somewhere.

John does not think anymore. There is nothing he can do now anyway.

He grabs the telescope in his hand, pulls back his right arm and throws it towards the mirror with all the strength he has left in his body.

…Then he waits for the mirror fragments to hit his face and body, hoping that the physical pain will take some of his inner agony away.
John is frustrated about the new situation he seems to be in...
